The commemorative medal is dedicated to the unconquered Kherson, the heroic Kherson region, which is washed by two seas and whose territory runs land routes to the occupied Crimea. Kherson region is a land that has an ancient history, the land of Cossack glory, the cradle of shipbuilding. And it was Kherson region that was occupied by the enemy from the first days of the full-scale invasion, and Kherson is the only regional center that the Russian invaders managed to capture since February 24, 2022. Kherson region became one of the centers of the partisan resistance movement, residents of the city and the region, despite the danger and aggression, resolutely went to rallies, organized a movement of public resistance. The city was under occupation for 256 days, but today the Armed Forces of Ukraine returned Kherson under Ukrainian flag!
