Sviyazhsk (Russian: Свияжск) is an island and village in Zelenodolsky District of Tatarstan, at the confluence of the Sviyaga and Shchuka rivers.
Svyyazk was founded on May 24, 1551 under Ivan the Terrible on the Chuvash land of Shah Ali.
