Under the top layer of the painting by the Spanish artist Pablo Picasso "The Blind Man's Meal", researchers found a previously hidden work, which has already been given its own name "The Lonely Crouching Nude". The study of the painting was carried out by specialists from the company Oxia Palus, specializing in the restoration of lost works.

Picasso painted over his original painting while working on The Blind Man's Meal in 1903. To find out what the hidden drawing looked like, XRF technology (X-ray fluorescence image overlay) was used. An artificial intelligence with uploaded Picasso style data added the necessary brushstrokes and generated a complete composition. The original hidden painting was created during the "blue period", when the author was at the very beginning of his creative career. Then Picasso was haunted by poverty, and he did not have enough materials to work with.

The achievement with the use of XRF images allows not only to show a previously unknown work of the master, which can be seen by the whole world. This is another reason for deeper implementation of AI and modern technologies for the study of masterpieces of painting.
