We invite you to the unique exhibition "Crowns of the World", where a very unusual exhibit will be presented – the reconstructed Helmet of Alexander III Argead, better known as Alexander the Great. The reconstruction was supported by Violence and the Boris Voznitsky Charitable Foundation.

The exhibition takes place in the Kamenets-Podolsk State Historical Museum-Reserve. The presentation of the helmet took place on October 23, and since October 24 it has been on display in the museum. The exhibition "Crowns of the World– is a collection of unique crowns, crowns and other headdresses that belonged to monarchs and spiritual leaders. Among the exhibits are original artifacts, as well as copies, replicas and reconstructions of objects stored in museums in Ukraine, Poland, Austria, France and other countries.

Thanks to this cultural event, visitors can see what the ancient crowns of Tutankhamun and Nefertiti, the kings of Sumer, Assyria, and the rulers of the countries of pre-Columbian America looked like. This exhibition allows you to learn more about those who decided the fate of entire states, including Alexander the Great and his helmet.

This king's headdress is a legendary artifact. The information about the helmet is based on minted images on coins, Plutarch's notes and other historical sources. It is known that Alexander was called Iskander the Two-Horned. Examining all the historical facts, it was assumed that the ruler had a helmet of the Chalcidian type on his head.

We were looking for new information and studied rare exhibits in museums in Greece and other countries of the world - ancient Greek helmets of this period. We also consulted with historians of the Ivan Franko Lviv National University. Based on this material, historians and craftsmen were able to reproduce the ancient helmet. The reconstruction itself was done with the help of authentic technologies, namely the method of rising (lowering the metal to form the volume) and the technology of coinage. Helmet reconstruction is an extremely interesting process, so we have the opportunity to look into the secrets of history that have been hidden for centuries.

Alexander the Great united many lands, proved himself a brave commander and a wise politician. Thanks to Alexander, the influence of Greek culture spread to the entire Ecumene of that time. The legendary ruler marked the beginning of a new era, which was called Hellenism and lasted for about 300 years. In general, Hellenism became a higher stage in the historical development of the peoples of classical Greece and the ancient East, who stepped forward in economic life, the complexity of the socio-class structure and state-building. The interaction of Greek and Oriental principles in the field of culture and religion has also proved fruitful. This manifested itself in the rapid development of the exact sciences: astronomy, mathematics, physics, biology, geography, philosophy, the creation of mass sculpture, the flourishing of urban planning, architecture, literature and poetry.

Today we invite you to touch the history. After all, there is no future without knowledge of history.
