Seascape is a special genre of painting. The sea is simply impossible to imagine static. However, to portray it, you need imagination. Without it, it is impossible to convey the "movement" of the elements, but the artists still manage to do it.

Gusts of wind, peals of thunder, splashes of water are difficult for the brush to capture. The variability of these states causes complexity in a natural image, while at the same time providing limitless ground for fantasy. The sea, as one of the living embodiments of nature, is a source of inspiration for many painters.

Seascape painting was one of the important trends in Dutch painting. For example, in the paintings of the 19th century Dutch artist Hermanus Kukkuk, the sea appears as a living "sitter". These are not just landscapes in oil on canvas, but color portraits that trace the relationship between man and the elements.

Azerbaijani artist Sattar Bahlul oglu Bahlulzade was also the founder of lyrical images of the sea. Landscapes dedicated to the Caspian Sea occupied a special place in his work. Masterworks conveyed the different character of the Caspian, based on the impressions of these places.

Among those who could not but admire the sea element was Ivan Konstantinovich Aivazovsky. The artist's seascapes were often built on the contrast of light and shadow, forms: everything seemed to be plunged into darkness or penetrated by light. However, the element was paramount.

South Sea by Ukrainian artist Oleksandr Borisenko — the painting sold on Violity is permeated with calmness and cordiality. Warmth, again the story of human relationships, serenity.
