If until recently not all Europeans knew about the mighty country of Ukraine, today the whole world is talking about it. The society follows the news, empathizes and sympathizes with every Ukrainian who suffered from Russian terrorists.

Achievements and records in Ukraine for the entire centuries-old history has gathered a huge amount. Today we will talk about some of them.

The Ukrainian constitution has received the status of one of the oldest. The US Constitution was signed in 1787, the Polish one in 1791. And long before that (in 1710) - a document by Pylyp Orlyk.

Before Kyiv was destroyed by the Tatar-Mongols (1240), it was one of the largest cities in Europe. Paris was 50 times smaller and London 10 times smaller.

In 1934, a language beauty contest was held in Paris. The Ukrainian language took an honorable third place (categories "phonetics", "phraseology", "vocabulary"). Our language took the second position in the category of "melodiousness".

Recorded more than 100 years ago by the composer Nikolai Leontovich, the song "Shchedryk" is the most popular and famous song of our country. The English-language version of the track "Carol of the Bells" has become a symbol of the Christmas spirit throughout the West.

Ukrainian land is on the fourth position in the world in terms of black soil area.

In Ukraine, 3 monasteries have the status of Lavra. There are six such establishments in the world. Kiev Pechersk Lavra is one of the most significant religious places, which is included in the World Cultural Heritage List.

The geographical center of Europe is located in Ukraine (village of Delovoe, Transcarpathian region). Due to the fact that the calculation methodology affects the determination of coordinates, this is not the only existing center of the continent, but one of the five that is officially recognized by the world community.

The Guinness Book of Records confirms that there is no other wind musical instrument in the world that would be longer than the Hutsul trembita. In Ukraine, there is the second largest desert in Europe, which is called "Oleshkovsky Sands".

In 2010, researchers discovered that an underwater river flows in the Black Sea. Nowhere in the world is there an underwater artery that would have similar characteristics. The river has waterfalls, rapids and banks.

The merit of Ukraine is the invention of a kerosene lamp. It was created in 1853 by Lviv residents Ignatiy Lukasevich and Jan Zekh, employees of the Under the Golden Star pharmacy. In the same year, doctors performed a surgical operation under the light of this lamp. This event was the first of its kind in the medical world. Also, it was the Ukrainian surgeon who performed the first kidney transplant in history.
