The invaders continue to destroy the cultural heritage of Ukraine. Next in line are books from the library of the church of Peter the Grave.

The temple library in Mariupol contained unique Ukrainian-language editions, which are now lost forever. The books, which were collected by volunteers and charitable organizations, were confiscated and burned in the courtyard of the temple.

According to the adviser to the mayor of Mariupol, Petr Andryushchenko, this happened on a tip and assistance from the clergy of the Russian Orthodox Church. A delegation of the Moscow Patriarchate was brought to the city and the Russian Orthodox Church instructed to resume the activities of churches, praying in them for the Russian military.

Recall the church of Peter the Grave was built with the assistance of local residents. The religious building was included in the Book of Records of Ukraine for the largest Petrykivka painting.

According to the mayor's adviser, the Russian invaders are planning to demolish the temple building or reformat it according to the canons of the Russian Orthodox Church.

Earlier it was reported that in the Kherson region occupiers set their sights on private gatherings. The Russian military began to carry out targeted raids on the homes of local historians, collectors, antique shops, forcibly taking away everything that is of at least some artistic or historical value.
