A fragment of a 13th-century bracelet, samples of ceramics, glass and ceramic tiles were found by archaeologists during excavations carried out on the territory of the Sharitka monastery in Lutsk. The foundation of the building is currently under investigation.

The main find was a fragment of a 13th-century bracelet made of blue glass with a yellow coating, which, according to researchers, is evidence of the development of the material culture of that time. After all, the discovered product allows us to draw conclusions about the level of development of the jewelry craft, trade and general economic indicators. Such a bracelet was quite expensive and a person with a good income could afford it.

Also, the attention of archaeologists was attracted by other finds: medieval ceramics, glass and tiles. During the excavations, bricks of the 15th and 17th centuries were found, which indicates that the walls were rewalled several times.

At the moment, research continues on the foundation of the monastery, the thickness of the basement of which is 1.5 meters. Archaeologists have already managed to excavate three underground rooms located on the back of the building. Previously, there was a basement, which was walled up in 1996. Excavations will show exactly how these underground rooms were used.

It was noted that the northern part of the wall was used for defense. The width between the rooms reached 2 meters. The structures were strong: the battle wall could withstand strong blows during the attack on Lutsk.

Recall that the Sharitok Monastery is an architectural monument of national importance, located in the historical and cultural reserve "Old Lutsk". The buildings where the monastery was located belonged to the Holy Trinity Cathedral and were built in the 16th century and rebuilt in the 18th century.
