In our articles, we often present the gold coins of the British Empire, both central and dependent territories, and dominions . But we almost never represented the gold sovereigns of the current queen, Elizabeth II. We fill this gap with a sovereign , a sovereign minted in 1963. It contains the traditional image of Saint George on the obverse and an expressive portrait of the young queen on the reverse. Elizabeth II came to the throne after the death of her father in 1952 and continues to fulfill the duties of the monarch until now, despite her advanced age. She reigns longer than any other British monarch before her. All these difficult years there was an active disintegration of the British Empire, but the Queen performed her duties with dignity, earning the respect of her subjects. In the photographs in the article, there is a photo of the queen in the year the sovereign was minted. You can buy gold and platinum coins minted during the reign of Elizabeth II in this section .
