True connoisseurs of painting, as well as fine art specialists, have always paid attention to the beauty of mountain landscapes. Many paintings depicting the Carpathians lived and continue to live outside of time.
Landscapes with the mountains of the Carpathians demanded from artists a surprisingly subtle understanding of color, refinement and emotionality, and at the same time cheerfulness. The painters drew inspiration from creative travels to small towns and villages in the area. Virgin nature, the life of Hutsuls and Hutsuls, sketches of household trifles.
Each season provided excellent etude materials, which in creative workshops turned into grandiose canvases. Natural brightness and emotional excitement gave the paintings depicting the Carpathian region a special decorative sound. In the works of artists there were both generalizations and precise detailing.
The color triumph also changed depending on the time of year. Pastel, sometimes aristocratic, hues greeted painters in the Carpathians in winter and early spring, golden foliage and black mountains in autumn. A riot of greenery was present in the paintings, where the artist wanted to show late spring or mid-summer. One such example of a seasonal image of the Carpathians is

The mountains in such paintings are a kind of tuning fork that enhances the sound of the color the artist needs. Therefore, the landscapes of the Carpathians can be compared with music that flows naturally and easily. Even here there was improvisation.
