Today, everything related to Kherson does not leave the front pages of Ukrainian news resources. However, after the liberation of Kherson Oblast, work on its fortification continues. And this time, the border guards, who were equipping the fortifications, turned from soldiers into archaeologists.

Our military in the Kherson region managed to discover an ancient Roman settlement with fragments of ancient ceramics. More specifically, they found fragments of amphorae and jugs.

Military "archaeologists" immediately reported their finds to local archaeologists. And the place of discovery was left to preserve the artifacts for detailed study by specialists.
Now, an archaeological expedition is working at the place where the discovery was made. It remains to be seen what other findings scientists will find, and what conclusions they will draw from the ceramic fragments found by the military.

By the way, this is not an isolated case when the military comes across objects of historical value during the construction of trenches. Recently, while digging a dugout, our defenders in the East managed to unearth pottery from the Late Bronze Age.
