The release of the postage stamp was timed to coincide with the 100th anniversary of the presentation of "Shchedryk" on the stage of Carnegie Hall in New York.
Yes Yes. You heard right. The Ukrainian composition "Shchedryk", which is known in America as "Carol Of The Bells", is 100 years old. Unfortunately, this festive date for Ukrainian culture coincided with the tragic period of the war. 100 years ago, on the stage of Carnegie Hall in New York, Americans first heard Leontovich's famous Christmas tune and fell in love with it.
Before the first official performance of the work, Nikolai Leontovich arranged it for more than 10 years. The first edition of Shchedryk appeared in 1910.
But back to the brand. You can buy it starting from December 23 in all post offices of Ukraine. The total circulation of the brand is 200 thousand copies.
