In the new year with a new commemorative coin: the NBU introduced a numismatic novelty
The introduction of new coins into circulation is always good news for numismatists. Especially when it concerns commemorative coins. Another novelty is dedicated to the most popular Ukrainian humorist poet Pavlo Prokopovych Glazovy.

The coin, made of nickel silver, a material common to National Bank coins, was put into circulation on December 28, 2022.

On the obverse side of the 2-hryvnia coin is the inscription Ukraine (in a semicircle), to the right of which is the small State Coat of Arms of Ukraine and the year of coinage 2022. The center is decorated with a composition from a stylized open book - a rocking chair, over which the artist's muse flies, to the right - theater masks, which symbolize the theater of life, in which the poet exposes and ridicules negative phenomena.

On the reverse, there is a portrait of the humorist poet, surrounded by inscriptions and images of the heroes of his comic strips. Below the image of the author are the years of Pavlo Glazovy's life.

Pavlo Prokopovych was considered one of the most popular Ukrainian humorous poets. After searching for additional information about him, it turned out that he was also an honored artist of Ukraine, a laureate of the Ostap Vyshny Award, the first laureate of the Petro Sahaidachny Award. He was awarded the Order of Merit III degree for his significant contribution to Ukrainian literature. And the medal of the International Charitable Foundation "Ukrainian House" — "For Charity".

And I would like to finish the words from the comic strip entitled "Language is great":
"...Our language is majestic
We don't hear it everywhere.
And the language is not to blame for this —
People are to blame.
Sincere language will not be used
With frail slaves,
In which the thought is on the suffix,
Tongue-tied..."
