Iron Man helmet, lightsaber and other blockbuster items sold at Heritage Auctions for 4.31 million

Iron Man helmet, lightsaber and other blockbuster items sold at Heritage Auctions for 4.31 million
At the end of July, Heritage Auctions hosted the Hollywood & Entertainment Signature project, where buyers had the opportunity to purchase props used in the filming of famous films. In total, more than 700 items were put up for sale, including costumes, posters, photographs and much, much more. The total value of the sold lots amounted to 4.31 million dollars.
Most of all, buyers were interested in the helmet from the first part of the Marvel movie saga "Iron Man" (2008). A fiberglass mask called Mark III, made for Robert Downey Jr., who played a genius inventor and superhero, was valued at $137,000. The bidding leader is followed by the lightsaber of Obi-Wan Kenobi, portrayed by Ewan McGregor in several episodes of Star Wars. This item was used in Episode One: The Phantom Menace (1999) and was purchased for $125,000. But another sword of the same character, but from the next episode, was sold at half the price - for 62.5 thousand dollars.
Another lot purchased for $125,000 is the Joker costume, played by Jack Nicholson in Batman (1989). A bright purple color and a wide-brimmed hat made the villain cartoony and at the same time sinister. The dolls from the cartoon "Corpse Bride" by Tim Burton were also included in the list of lots. Both went under the hammer for 106 thousand dollars. They were put up for sale by Mike Johnson, the second director who worked with Burton. There were also very old rarities at the auction, such as a Walt Disney movie camera with all the necessary authenticity documents. Such a rarity was estimated at 50 thousand dollars.
