Postage stamps issued in solidarity with Ukraine

Postage stamps issued in solidarity with Ukraine
Post offices around the world continue to issue themed postage stamps, thus supporting Ukraine in its fight against the Russian Federation. Circulations vary from several tens of thousands to millions of copies. These include stamps that are not intended to pay for letters and parcels, which will be of interest exclusively to collectors.

One of the first was Latvia, on March 10, which presented a block with three stamps of 1.44 euros with the image of the Ukrainian and Latvian flags. On a separate coupon with the inscription “We are with you! Glory to Ukraine!" two sculptures are depicted in Ukrainian and Latvian languages - the Monument of Independence of Ukraine (Kyiv) and the Monument of Freedom of Latvia (Riga). During the sale, part of the proceeds was transferred to the financial support fund for Ukraine.
In the same month, Poland showed its support by issuing the stamp “We are with you!” circulation of 3 million copies. The depicted handshake did not remain symbolic: the western neighbor helps to the best of his ability, transferring weapons to protect against the enemy.
A large number of such stamps were printed by Sierra Leone Post. Among them is a block with portraits of celebrities who supported Ukraine. Here are Leonardo DiCaprio, and Mila Kunis (born in Chernivtsi), and Ryan Reynolds and others. Near each photo, the amounts donated for refugees from Ukraine are indicated. There are four stamps in the block, the face value of each of them is 20,000 leone.
In September, a stamp with a face value of 0.75 euros was issued by Slovakia, which received tens of thousands of Ukrainians. Together with her, an envelope appeared with a symbolic image: the hand is folded in a victory gesture, the missing fingers are a metaphor for the sacrifice that one has to pay for freedom.
The National Postal Service of Portugal (CTT-Correios de Portugal) also presented in autumn a stamp designed by designer João Machado "Solidarity with the Ukrainian people". The circulation was 75 thousand copies, the face value was 0.95 euros. The collected 50 thousand euros from sales were transferred to the restoration of the rehabilitation center in Borodianka.
