Archaeologists have excavated more than twenty 2000-year-old bronze statues. Among the statues, Apollo (one of the Olympic gods, patron of music, divination and healing), Hygieia (goddess of health) and other gods are named. In addition to the statues, archaeologists discovered more five thousand coins of bronze, silver and gold.

The vast majority of the statues found date from between the second century BC and the first century AD.
At that time, ancient Tuscany was passing an important stage of transition from Etruscan to Roman rule. Scientists have high hopes that thanks to the discovery, they will be able to learn much more about this transition period. The images are already being studied by specialists around the world.
The statues were preserved in excellent condition because they were in a hot spring of mud. Which, by the way, the Etruscans and Romans considered a sacred place. This is the opinion of the Ministry of Culture.

Inscriptions were also seen on the statues in Etruscan and Latin, they probably refer to high-status families who dedicated the statues to the gods. Also, there is an assumption that the statues were installed and located near the hot spring in those days.
