Export was prevented: the capital's customs officers discovered iron keels of the 12th-14th centuries
Cases of illegal export of ancient artifacts in the world are not unique. Recently, they tried to take kaila, which has cultural and historical value, out of Kyiv region. However, local customs officers were able to detect the medieval tools in time and prevent their illegal border crossing.

This happened during an attempt to send two ancient objects from the Kyiv region to the USA. In the international postal shipment, iron kailas dating back to the 12th-14th centuries were found. The specialists of the National History Museum of Ukraine helped to determine the nature of the objects and the approximate period of production.
The museum workers drew attention to the fact that the tools have active iron corrosion products and soil layers. This, in their opinion, is characteristic of archeology objects that have been in the ground for a long time.

The seized goods were confiscated, and as for the sender, a protocol was drawn up on him for violation of customs rules. After all, in Ukraine, private individuals are prohibited from exporting archeology objects outside the state.
It remains to be hoped that these objects, after detailed research and final identification, will take an honorable place in the museum collection.
