A rich man's house or a vacation spot? What did archaeologists discover in the northeast of France?
Archaeological excavations are often unpredictable. It is impossible to be completely sure that what was discovered is of historical or any other value. But scientists always hope that the find will be worthwhile.

This time, the assumptions were correct. The discovery aroused unprecedented interest, intriguing archaeologists. On the territory of the city of Reims in northeastern France, the remains of a monumental residential complex built in the 2nd or 3rd century AD were found. The building, built in the shape of the Latin letter "U", consisted of two large galleries, many rooms and a garden with a pool or fountain.
According to scientists, there were at least 20 rooms in the discovered room. And they were probably intended for recreation. In the past richly decorated. And some of them even had underfloor heating.
Also, archaeologists managed to find the remains of two galleries, between which there was a kind of either a pool or a fountain. Pipes were connected to this block, through which water entered the bowl under pressure.
The presence of a large number of rooms, their organization, the richness of decor, a well-thought-out hydraulic network and other finds, allowed scientists to suggest that these could be the ruins of either a very rich house or a public recreational building.
