867 medieval graves, armor, and ring of a high-ranking warrior – an amazing find in northern Germany
Archaeological excavations in the northern part of Germany ended with the discovery of 867 burials and objects that any historical museum in the world would dream of. Especially when you consider that armor and a warrior's ring were found in one of them.

This discovery was made about 50 years ago in the small town of Wesel-Bieslich. Unfortunately, almost all of the burials found by archaeologists were destroyed and looted. But after careful research, armor and a ring of a high-ranking warrior were found in one of them.
Fragments of a sword found next to him, parts of a belt buckle decorated with stones, unusual military armor, as well as a massive gold ring with the inscription BODI indicated a high rank. According to archaeologists, this man was buried at the end of the 6th century AD.

The integrity of this particular grave, the researchers called real luck.
But why did the media start talking about this discovery right now? 50 years after its discovery? It's simple – right now, thanks to modern technology, specialists have managed to reconstruct some fragments found in the burials and partially recreate things of that time.

Also, the found items are on display at the Rhine Regional Museum in Bonn until October 15, 2023.
