Lot for $132 000: a rare banknote with a portrait of Elizabeth II was sold at auction
A rare 1935 Canadian banknote featuring a portrait of a young Queen Elizabeth II sold at Heritage Auctions in Hong Kong for $132 000.

It is considered one of the rarest and most valuable in the world, as it remains in its original unused condition. The front side of the banknote depicts a portrait of the young Princess Elizabeth II, who will become Queen of Great  Britain in the future. The denomination is $20 and the reverse side features two allegorical figures depicting hard work. The banknote contains text in French.

This sale aroused great interest among collectors and investors, highlighting the significance of rare banknotes and their historical value. An anonymous bidder outbid and paid $132 000 for this historic piece.

Perhaps this note will become part of a large collection, which will likely increase the profit of its new owner later.
