4 ducats 1848, Austrian Empire

4 ducats 1848, Austrian Empire
We continue to acquaint you with collection and investment coins sold on Violity. I present to you 4 ducats of Emperor Ferdinand I, minted in the last year of the emperor's reign. The fate of this emperor is unusual and difficult. He suffered from severe hereditary diseases since childhood. Their cause apparently was the traditional for the Habsburg family of closely related marriages.

The leadership of the empire was mainly concentrated in the hands of Prince Metternich, who, formally holding the post of Minister of Foreign Affairs, had a decisive influence on the internal affairs of the empire. The spring of the peoples of 1848 did not bypass the Austrian Empire either. The revolutionary events in Vienna, the resignation of Metternich, whom the emperor used to rely on in everything, the turbulent events of the Hungarian revolution and the resulting war forced the emperor to abdicate at the end of 1848. The presented coin of 4 ducats is a witness to dramatic events that largely determined the course of European history.
