The Rago Auction presents the Spring Design Sale Series, featuring two significant sessions: "Early 20th Century Design" on Thursday May 11th and "Modern Design" on Friday May 12th.
It is definitely worth paying attention to three exquisite vases that demonstrate the unique style and creative experimentation of ceramic masters.
One is a green vase with a handle, estimated to be in the range of $35,000 to $40,000. The second is a volcanic glazed vase that ranges from $25,000 to $35,000. Both of these vases were designed by Or and represent the pinnacle of his career.

The third vase was created by Leona Nicholson for Newcomb College in 1908. The vase is decorated with images of irises and is estimated at 19,000–24,000 dollars. This work is a vivid example of the high skill of the potter, who was able to convey the beauty of nature in his work.
All three vases are real masterpieces and are admired for their uniqueness and beauty.

Early 20th Century Design also features stunning work from the Saturday Evening Girls, including a painting vase ranging from $15,000 to $20,000; a central bowl depicting roosters, valued at $10–15,000; and crockery with a Viking ship, estimated at $12,000–$16,000.
This collection was created by a group of working-class women in north Boston known as the Saturday Night Girls. Their beginnings began as a reading group and grew into a famous pottery workshop where young women learned pottery techniques and got stable jobs with paid holidays and meals.
Today, their pieces are considered examples of the American Arts and Crafts Movement, rendered in rich colors on molds created with a wheel or cast into moulds.

Vibrant contemporary design lots include Lino Tagliapietra's 2019 glass sculpture Manhattan Sunset 2, valued at $100,000-$150,000; Wendell Castle's Match Point bench, estimated at $50,000-$70,000; a magnificent wardrobe by Wharton Esherick, valued at $40,000-$60,000;
the 1988 glass sculpture Cross Head by Stanislav Libensky and Yaroslava Brykhtova, estimated at $40,000-$60,000; and pottery by Toshiko Takaezu from the Princeton collection, including an unnamed closed form created around 1961 and valued at $15,000-$20,000, and a work called Blue Moon valued at $6,000-$8,000.

A special section called "Invulnerable Ukraine" presents works donated by prominent glass artists from around the world, which will be sold at a charity auction in favor of the Glass Museum in Lviv, Ukraine. Among the project participants are Michael Ashenbrenner, Lachezar Boyadzhiev, Peter Bremers, Wilfried Grotens, Steve Lynn and others.
