The necklace worn by Princess Diana shortly before her death is being sold by Guernsey's auction house.
We are talking about the jewelry that "accompanied" Lady Dee on June 3, 1997 during a visit to the ballet "Swan Lake" in London's Royal Albert Hall.
The amazing necklace, by the British jewelry house Garrard, was created according to Princess Diana's own sketch. To implement this idea, the jewelers used 178 diamonds with a total weight of 51 carats and 7 identical 12 mm South Sea pearls.
After the landmark release, Princess Diana returned the piece to the jewelers so they could create matching earrings. But, by the time the kit was completed, the Princess of Wales had died in a car accident.
It is known that most of the jewelry worn by Lady Dee belonged to the crown. The princess wore many different kinds of jewelry, but usually they were not hers.
Soon the set will find a new owner. The auction will take place on June 27, 2023 in New York.
