International Children's Day is always celebrated with fun. Every year Ukrainian children associate it with colorful balloons, funny clowns and sweets. However, since the invasion of our state by Russia, everything has changed.
This year, on this day, the National Bank of Ukraine presents the commemorative coin "Born in Ukraine", the denomination of which is UAH 5.
The obverse of the numismatic novelty is decorated with a fragment from Oleg Shupliak's painting "Cradle". Mallows and the parental home symbolize the continuation of the family, the connection of generations, faith in a bright future.
The image on the reverse symbolically complements this story - on a stylized background, a baby cosmonaut is connected to the Earth. A native home, which is represented by Ukraine.
The author shared that while developing the design, he was thinking about small Ukrainians who were forced to leave their homes. The horrors of war that befell these children cannot be described.
The National Bank plans to launch these commemorative coins in two types of metals: 5,000 silver coins and 75,000 nickel silver coins.
Unfortunately, with the beginning of a full-scale invasion, small Ukrainians faced all the horrors of war. Leaving the country, "torn" families, communication with relatives only through a tiny window of smartphones, rocket attacks, spending the night in bomb shelters... There will be retribution for all of this!
