"Military Intelligence of Ukraine" is a new coin from the NBU
The National Bank of Ukraine presented a new commemorative coin in honor of the unwavering dedication and self-sacrifice of the brave men and women of military intelligence of Ukraine. This coin is a symbol of honor and recognition of intelligence officers who have played a key role in protecting the security and sovereignty of the country. As Ukraine continues to experience difficult times, this tribute is a testament to the indomitable spirit of military intelligence and its invaluable contribution.
The obverse of the new commemorative coin is decorated with the emblem of the Main Directorate of Intelligence, which is placed on a matte background. Reverse — on the background of the surface of the globe, the image of an owl piercing with a sword the outlines of the territory of the aggressor country and the inscriptions: MILITARY INTELLIGENCE OF UKRAINE and the slogan of the military intelligence in Latin SAPIENS DOMINABITUR ASTRIS ("The wise will rule over the stars").

Tetyana Baluta was the author of the numismatic novelty design, Volodymyr Demyanenko was the sculptor.

The 5-hryvnia commemorative coin is made of nickel silver, the minting quality category is "special uncirculated". Circulation - up to 75,000 pieces.

The presentation of the coin was held with the participation of the head of the NBU Andriy Pyshny and the head of the Main Intelligence Department of the Ministry of Defense, Major General Kyryl Budanov.
Military intelligence plays a crucial role in the defense and security system of any country, and Ukraine is no exception. Ukrainian military intelligence, known as the General Directorate of Intelligence (GUD), has been a cornerstone of national defense since Ukraine gained independence in 1991. The task of the GUR is to collect and analyze important information related to national security, as well as conduct covert operations.
