Magical artifacts discovered that likely protect against the evil eye
Archaeologists have analyzed a number of artifacts from a pilgrimage camp in Israel that they believe were used by "wizards" for magical purposes.
An assortment of 400-year-old artifacts found along a former Muslim pilgrimage route from Egypt to the Arabian Peninsula may have been used for magical rites or ceremonies, new research suggests.

Archaeologists have discovered a collection of objects in Eilat, a region in southern Israel. These included a variety of clay objects, including a figurine of a naked woman (possibly a goddess) with raised arms, miniature incense motif altars, fragments of rattles, animal figurines, and many colored quartz stones and shells.

According to the statement, the Israel Antiques Service will work with the Israeli Ministry of Tourism to establish a tourist area along the route and nearby archaeological sites, including "educational activities for the public highlighting its role in cultural heritage.”
