Reconstruction of the UPA in Virginia

Reconstruction of the UPA in Virginia
Reconstruction has long been a hobby in the United States, and while it generally focuses on the American Civil War and American soldiers who took part in what are known there as World War 1 and World War 2 some hobbyists have begun to branch out to portraying other sides and periods of history.

A small group of Americans were recently taught the tactics, history, and day to day life of members of the UPA in 1944 and some of what they would have experienced after 1945.
Those who took part spent three days of instruction from a group of Ukrainian diaspora and learned period drill, marching orders, and the history of Ukraine during the 20th century. Participants also had light discussion on the proper construction of kryivka dugouts, and how the UPA evaded both Soviet internal troop and German patrols when they were active.
The experience was highly enlightening, and informative to all who took part. In the future it's intended that those who took part will be able to spread the knowledge learned of Ukrainian history at public displays and education events across the Southeastern United States.
