Canceled game ticket: How do historical events affect the value of a collectible?
Collecting tickets is one of the most interesting hobbies that allows you to delve into history. The exhibits of such gatherings store not only information about the event, but also memories associated with this event. The next match was to take place on June 22, 1941 against Moscow CDKA and was dedicated to the opening of the new "Respublikansky" stadium. It was on this day that the second ceremonial opening of the completely reconstructed stadium was planned, which received a new name - the Republican Stadium named after M. S. Khrushchev. Kyiv "Dynamo" was preparing for the June 22 match against the Red Army team from Moscow. However, the game was canceled due to the bombing.
As Oleg Petrovych Laevskyi, one of the Dynamo players of that time, who was only 19 years old, recalls that day: "We football players, like everyone else, went to Chervonoarmiiska on foot. Khreshchatyk, for example, was completely closed off, as the bombardment was already going on at that time. Bombyly, however, is not yet Kyiv, but Post-Volynskyi (now it is located within the city limits, in the vicinity of Zhulyany airport)... The match, of course, was canceled due to the expectation of a large crowd of people, which we learned about already at the stadium at one o'clock in the afternoon." Dynamo and CDKA football players, like all fans, learned that the game would not take place only an hour before the event.
It is important to remember that that year's football season for the "Dynamo" (Kyiv) team ended due to the attack of Nazi Germany on the USSR. By the time the tournament ended, the team had already managed to play nine matches and took 8th place among 15 teams of the USSR championship of group "A", which was supposed to last from April 27 to November 9, but the last matches took place on June 24.

Of course, tickets differ not only in their functional characteristics, but also in appearance. They can be real masterpieces of graphic design that reflect the theme of the event and the cultural features of the era. Ticket collectors appreciate every detail, from colors and fonts to sophisticated watermarks.

However, a special place in the world of ticket collecting is occupied by rare or historically important specimens. Tickets to outstanding events, such as concerts of legendary bands, World Cups or premieres in cinemas. They are not only a part of history, but also cause excitement and nostalgia. That's exactly what happened with this canceled football match ticket.

It seems that there are thousands of such items, and no fewer stories related to them. At least this is proved by the lots of the section "Printed products and other" on Violity.
