The Odesa Museum of the History of the Development of the Ukrainian Cossacks became another cultural and historical center that suffered from Russian attacks. On the night of February 9-10, 2024, Odesa region was attacked by Shahed-131/136 unmanned aerial vehicles, hitting, among other things, the museum building.
The central hall suffered the greatest destruction. Part of the ceiling has collapsed there, and what remains may be about to collapse. Currently, part of the museum collection is under threat.

The director of the museum, Serhii Shpak, emphasized that the building needs immediate repair. Since the museum is public, that is, it exists exclusively on donations and funds of members of the public association, you can count on help only from benefactors and the community.
The approximate cost of repairing the ceiling is about 40,000 hryvnias. So everyone who cares is asked to help. Card for donations: 5168 7456 8894 2520 Shpak Serhiy Vasyliovych.

Violity users are already familiar with the Odessa Museum of the History of the Development of the Ukrainian Cossacks. Programs dedicated to this place and its exhibits were repeatedly released on the YouTube channel "Violity PRO collection".

The museum director's stories helped disprove myths about Cossack life. For example, whether the Cossacks danced the battle hopak, whether they wore red harem pants, whether women were allowed to visit the Zaporizhia Sich, etc.
