The further fate of the Chinaiv hillfort is in question: the court of Kyiv allowed the construction of the archaeological site
The Chinaiv settlement and burial mound are an archaeological monument of national importance, which has been turned over for development. Such a decision was made by the Economic Court of Kyiv.

The plot, with an area of 4.76 hectares, will become a place for the construction of shopping and entertainment and office centers, parking, etc. The claim of the Prosecutor General's Office regarding the cancellation of the transfer of the monument for development by residential and public facilities was refused.

Previously, the Kyiv City Council granted the territory of the settlement for a long-term lease to Kyiv Vegetable Factory LLC. Later, the prosecutor's office repeatedly tried to appeal this decision, since the place received the status of a historical monument in 2009. The territory of the settlement should not be alienated or transferred to others, especially for development.

However, representatives of "Kyiv Vegetable Factory" LLC stressed that they performed their duties in good faith during the established term of the lease. And only they should decide how to use this land in the future.

However, at the time of signing the lease, it was assumed that the plot would be used for agricultural production. But later the LLC signed several investment contracts. At present, the construction of a residential complex with developed infrastructure is planned on the site of the hillfort.

It should be recalled that the Chinaivskoe archaeological complex is a monument of national significance of the 9th - 13th centuries, an area with a unique landscape. Since it consists of three types of ramparts, a post (settlement) and two barrow groups with more than 400 barrows.

According to Ukrainian historians, this is the southern outpost of ancient Kyiv, which helped to control the approaches to the city during the time of Kyivan Rus.
