Kyiv in the lens of Ukrainian photo artist Oleksandr Ranchukov
Kyiv has always attracted with its unique atmosphere. It is a city that absorbs history, culture and traditions and preserves them in its streets and buildings. In addition to official monuments and famous places, there is a world that fascinates with its simplicity. This world was recorded by Oleksandr Ranchukov, a recognized photographer and researcher of Kyiv architecture.
Oleksandr Ranchukov went from a student of the Kyiv Polytechnic Institute to a recognized master of his craft. His lens not only recorded the famous streets and architectural monuments of the city, but also paid attention to ordinary moments that create a unique atmosphere of the capital. For example, these photos, which were taken in different years, starting from the 1970s.
In his works, Ranchukov did not simply record architectural objects, he studied them with scientific pedantry, investing in each picture a part of his vision and understanding of the city.

Ranchukov's work is particularly valuable because he recorded moments that may seem ordinary and imperceptible to many. But they reflect the essence of the city and its life. This photo artist gave his viewers the opportunity to look at Kyiv through the eyes of those who lived there.
An important aspect in the history of Oleksandr Ranchukov's work was his participation in the formation of the creative association "View". This community had a significant influence on the development of photography in the Soviet period. However, despite the success and recognition, many projects of "View" were stopped due to the intervention of representatives of the Soviet authorities.

The works of Oleksandr Ranchukov are illustrated in such books as "Chronicle of Velichka", "Architectural Image of Kyiv", "Kyiv. The city where M. Bulgakov lived" and others.

His exhibitions were held in Ukraine, Germany, France, Lithuania, USA, etc.
