Ukrainian cyber sportsmen became the first Counter-Strike 2 world champions
Ukrainian eSports team Natus Vincere (NAVI) performed a real miracle on the global cyber arena, winning the first Counter-Strike 2 world championship - PGL CS2 Major Copenhagen 2024.

In the grand final, NAVI met the American team FaZe Clan, ending the competition with a score of 2:1 in favor of the Ukrainians. Counter-Strike 2 is a computer game in the tactical shooter genre, designed for many users. It was developed by Valve and became the 5th in the Counter-Strik series, the first of which was created back in 2000.

The prize fund of the tournament is $1,250,000, of which NAVI will receive $500,000, FaZe — $170,000, 3rd-4th place — Team Vitality, G2 Esports — $80,000 each. During the broadcast on Maincast channels, more than 5.6 million donations were collected hryvnias for the needs of "Azov" fighters. NAVI announced that they would double this amount.

"Born to Win took Ancient (13 : 9), but the opponent read NAVI's Mirage pick (13 : 2). Despite this result, NAVI rallied and won the PGL Major Copenhagen trophy on Inferno (2 : 1)," said the official publication.

It should be noted that in 2011, the Ukrainian team became the first winner in the history of the tournament "The International" - the largest Dota 2 competition in the world. And 10 years later, they won the major tournament - PGL Major Stockholm. And now she is the first in the history of eSports to have three major victories in one year — World Cyber Games 2010, Intel Extreme Masters and Electronic Sports World Cup.
