Kyivshchyna. Cities of heroes: Bucha, Gostomel, Irpin — a new commemorative medal of the National Bank
The issue of commemorative medals dedicated to hero cities and their heroic inhabitants continues. Continuing to follow the news on the NBU website, do not miss a single one. Especially since it is about Kyiv region. The National Bank announced a new product — the commemorative medal "Kyivshchyna. Cities of heroes: Bucha, Gostomel, Irpin."

This medal was dedicated to the stability, indomitability and heroism of the people who resisted the invaders. People who died during this confrontation.

The mirror background of the obverse is decorated with a stylized composition that unites the maps of these three cities of the Kyiv region. This contour visualization of Gostomel, Buchi, Irpen resembles a heart. Stylized windows of houses and flying balls are located near the central composition. You can also see the legendary Mriya plane, which was damaged during enemy fire. An enemy paratrooper with a shot parachute and a stylized flower as a symbol of rebirth of life.

The composition of the obverse would be incomplete without elements symbolizing wounds — physical and moral suffering inflicted by the occupiers on Ukrainians. Mirror wound, wounds that are "stitched" by embroidery.

As for the reverse, it depicts a girl swinging on a swing. A child with a ribbon in his hair, which breaks, is a symbol of an interrupted life. Dirty boot prints of enemies. Stylized elements of flora and fauna.

The question why another commemorative medal is dedicated to these cities does not even arise. After all, from the very beginning of active hostilities, fierce battles were fought here. Columns of Russian military equipment and military personnel seized populated areas of the capital region in order to surround Kyiv.

Kyiv Region suffered significant destruction. However, the worst thing is that the occupiers committed massive war crimes against the civilian population: they robbed, raped and killed.
