The beginning of the year should be accompanied by interesting events. And what about events from the world of collecting. For example, the release of a new postage stamp with the symbol of 2023 - a stamp with the image of a rabbit.
On January 5, a new set of two types of Chinese stamps was presented. Both were decorated with rabbits - symbols of unity, prosperity and fertility according to the Eastern calendar.
However, the animal is depicted in a not quite usual way. One stamp features a large blue rabbit. On the second, it is already a group of eared ones jumping one after the other in a circle, which is very unusual for them.
This design idea is associated with the personality of the author of the design, the 99-year-old artist, writer, and poet Huang Yunyu. Known for his childlike immediacy and openness. His works give a sense of brashness.
As for the Chinese zodiac, it can be called a symbol of Chinese culture. It originated in China and is becoming more and more popular all over the world. About 34 countries issued 200 stamps depicting zodiac animals.
