Monet's painting of 650 Lego bricks interpreted by the Chinese artist Ai Weiwei
Many artists were engaged in reproduction of Claude Monet's paintings. And they chose the most unusual variations of materials for this. Chinese artist Ai Weiwei chose Lego.

He needed 650 different parts in 22 colors to make the famous Water Lilies of Claude Monet appear on the wall. The width of this picture reached more than 15 meters. And it became the largest piece of Lego that was created by an artist.
However, Ai Weiwei added an element related to his personal life to his work. It is a dark spot, as a hint of a childhood spent in the Xinjiang region of China. The door to the dugout where the artist lived with his exiled father in the 1960s.
However, the Chinese artist still managed to combine Monet's impressionist painting and childhood memories. And depict all this with the help of designer bricks.
Usually the materials for Ai Weiwei's works are ceramics, wood, porcelain, photographs and other unusual objects. This time he settled on Lego.
