1937 Bugatti Type 57S sells for over £3m at auction in France

1937 Bugatti Type 57S sells for over £3m at auction in France
This news will be interesting for all connoisseurs of vintage cars. After all, we are talking about the sale of the Bugatti Type 57S of 1937.

The car was found back in 2009 at the home of Dr. Harold Carr, who was an obsessive hoarder. In the garage, along with medical equipment and beer mugs, thousands of receipts and drones from the Second World War could be found in his "stashholes".

The opportunity to examine the "treasures" of Carr's family came only after his death. But they could not even think about what was waiting for them. The extremely rare Bugatti was originally owned by racing enthusiast Earl Howe, who was actually the first president of the British Motor Racing Club.
After being owned by Earl Howe and several other owners for eight years, Dr Carr bought the Bugatti Type 57S in 1955 for £895, equivalent to £30,000 in today's market.

However, the new owner was in no hurry to drive his new car. He "walked" the Bugatti Type 57S just a few times before it was parked in a garage for almost fifty years. The car would have remained there, but it was discovered by the Carr family.
The rare car recently went on display at Bonhams Paris Motor Show and Vintage Car Sale and sold for a staggering £3,043,293.
