While building a pipeline, a tomb was found near the village of Dongfengshan, Yuanqi Province in China. As it turned out later, it was a tomb of the Jin Dynasty. Archaeologists from the Institute of Archeology of Shanxi Province were engaged in excavations and further research.

Experts excavated a closed tomb in the shape of a square, 3.4 meters high, each side about 2 meters. The tomb is built of brick, which is carved in the form of a tree, and the roof is laid out in the shape of an octagon from 13 inclined layers of bricks.

Inside is the main funeral room. To get inside, you need to go through a corridor, which can be accessed through a hidden door.

On the north side there is a guardhouse, the walls of which are decorated with artistically reproduced images of a woman and a man. They sit on exquisite chairs at the tables. The woman is depicted in a two-layered dress with elbow-length sleeves. A man with a beard, characteristic of the historical rulers of China, in a dress with a belt.

The western and eastern walls are decorated with lattice decoration, with flowers at the bottom, and elegant octagonal or square lace at the top.

Two adults aged 50-60 and a child were buried in the chamber tomb. A lamp, porcelain and glazed jugs and dishes were also found there.

A more interesting find was a brick one land purchase document with calligraphic text. We managed to translate "Village of Wang" and the names "Gongcao" and <<Minchang>>. With the help of analysis, scientists determined the dates of creation of the document, 1190-1196 AD. At that time, the ruler was Emperor Jin Zhangzong.

An expert from the Shanxi Provincial Institute of Archeology says: “The excavation of this tomb has enriched our understanding of the Jin Dynasty in the southern Shanxi region. The land purchase certificate has a clear date which is an accurate basis for dating the other tombs to the same period.”
