Again they showed their barbarity: the occupiers smashed the ancient monuments of art in Izyum
The torment of hundreds of people and the destruction of civilian infrastructure. Is this still not enough? But the Russians stop at nothing. Fleeing, they left a trace in the form of broken stone statues on Mount Kremenets, dated from the 9th - 13th centuries.

The ancient monuments of the sacred art of the Polovtsy with a thousand-year history were partially uprooted from the ground and broken. Eyewitnesses reported that in May 2022, the Russians attached a red banner with a hammer and sickle to one of the figures - "witnesses" of their victory. And, apparently, by running away, they wanted to harm even more.
Polovtsian women are an invaluable material for historians, which “tells” about clothes, jewelry, weapons, life, and customs of the Turkic peoples. Along with this, they also served as a source of inspiration for artists and poets who repeatedly depicted them in their works.

The largest collections of such figures are concentrated in the Dnieper, Lugansk, Odessa, Mariupol, Donetsk, Kharkov, Berdyansk.
It is believed that the Polovtsian women inspired incredible fear in people. Many legends are associated with their figures, which echo the preservation of the places where they are installed. One may not believe in prejudices regarding ancient idols, but in all ages they have carried the function of protecting the lands and expelling evil.
