"City of Heroes - Kharkiv" - a new commemorative medal of the National Bank
The victories of the Armed Forces of Ukraine at the front and the liberation of the occupied territories are accompanied by the release of symbolic collectibles. Stamps, medals, coins...

Only recently the National Bank presented two novelties, as the presentation of a new commemorative medal "City of Heroes - Kharkiv" has already taken place.

This event took place on November 21, 2022 on the Day of Dignity and Freedom in Kharkov, which for nine months has courageously resisted the massive terror of the Russian invaders. The medal was presented to Kharkiv Mayor Igor Terekhov by the Head of the NBU Andrey Pyshny.
"City of Heroes - Kharkiv" is the second medal of the series dedicated to Hero Cities. Cities and their inhabitants, who proved that Ukrainians are able to overcome any obstacles for the sake of freedom and independence.

While the medal can be seen in the photo, but I hope to have it soon. Here is the Kharkiv Kobzar - a monument to Taras Shevchenko, and the building of Gosprom, and the gazebo-fountain "Mirror Stream".
The obverse is decorated with lines from Lina Kostenko's historical novel Berestechko. And the reverse is the buildings of Kharkov beaten and mutilated by shells, a stylized panorama of the city with its historical sights and Polovtsian stone women from Mount Kremenets near Izyum.

Nickel silver has traditionally been chosen for the medal. An alloy that was recently also used for a commemorative medal dedicated to the hero city of Kherson.
