That's exactly what happened to Florida resident Leroy Gonzalez. His collection included more than 24 cars of various makes and models, as well as motorcycles, engines and other memorabilia from them. Agree, a significant case. A matter of a lifetime.
However, at the beginning of this year, this person died and his entire collection was inherited by his descendants. They did not know about its existence, so for them old garages with retro cars were a real surprise. However, the heirs of Leroy Gonzalez decided that vintage cars could bring a good profit. So, the other day, the entire collection was put up for auction.
And this despite the fact that the cars were in different technical condition - some looked perfect, others - needed serious repairs.
Of course, Leroy Gonzalez had his favorites. How can we do without it? The collector loved the red Fords and Corvettes of the 60s. His collection included 1958, 1963, 1964, 1965, 1966, 1967 and 2002 Corvettes. Looking at the photo, one gets the impression that they have just left the assembly line.
This gathering was also defined by the presence of Ford Coupe and Coupe Super Deluxe 1940 and 1947. Ford convertible 1950, two Lincoln Continental Mark II 1956, Plymouth Prowler 1999, Dodge SRT-10 2004, Honda F6 Valkyrie and Valkyrie Rune motorcycles and other cars.
The website selling the collection says the auction will take place at the family ranch. Future owners will be able to see where all these retro cars have been stored all along. It seems that the spectacle will be extraordinary.
