20 km from Rome there is the most ordinary fast food restaurant McDonald’s. All anything, only it is not just a place for quick snacks. It is also a museum. Under the glass floor of the establishment, there is a 45-meter section of the Appian Way of the II century BC and three Roman graves.

Appian Way is considered “the first highway in Europe”. It was once the most significant in the Roman Empire. Connecting Rome with Greece and the entire Middle East.

It was discovered even before the start of McDonald’s Italia’s construction work in 2014. But this discovery did not prevent further construction. In the same year, the company's management was able to resolve the issue of conservation of the monument with the city authorities. This part of the road was named after the municipality of Fratoche.

All potholes and cracks of the Roman road are available for visitors to the restaurant. McDonald’s visitors can enjoy this view without stopping to eat.

Also in this museum you can see three human graves. Human bones in them are replaced by plastic dummies. The original skeletons were removed by archaeologists for further examination.
