Candle holder: a piece of furniture, giving light

The first candle appeared in the culture of the Etruscans. These products were also used in Ancient Egypt. Here candlesticks were made in the form of a flower. The Egyptians believed that the sun God RA was born from a flower and brought light to people. That is why the stands for candles were stylized as a flower. Racks since ancient times are made in the form of a tripod, in some cases they look like an animal's paw.

The shape of the lamps at first carried a certain symbolism, for example, the bent petals of a flower meant the birth of life, during which light and darkness were separated. Later, the form of candlesticks ceased to attach any importance, they began to put not only in the temples, but also to decorate their homes.

During the Renaissance, candlesticks became more elaborate and ornate. The main part was decorated with ornaments in the form of leaves and figures of people and animals. One of the main materials in the manufacture of candlesticks was solid bronze. In the 18th century it was replaced by iron, and in the 19th century cast iron was used. Thanks to forged candlesticks, the house can be decorated in a unique style, giving the interior a spirit of antiquity.
