The French photographer of the XIX century Felix Adrien Bonfils lived and worked in the Middle East, shot landscapes, became famous thanks to the widespread use of the latest methods of color photography at that time. These pictures were very popular among travelers who visited Middle Eastern countries and bought panoramas of Constantinople and Damascus. In the early 1870s, an album was released by the publishing house Ducher Press. Bonfils opened his own studio F. Bonfils et Cie, traveled in search of beautiful shots to Lebanon, Egypt, Palestine. He was assisted by his wife Lidi, who owns most of the studio portraits of women. His son Adrian also photographed, took up landscape photography at the age of 17, headed the photo studio after his father's death. Buy antique photos here.
