Amulet of the Penkovsky culture

They belonged to the representatives of the ruling classes of the proto-state of the Goths, whose borders largely correspond to the borders of modern Ukraine. But after the defeat of the Goths by the Huns and the subsequent collapse of the Hunnic tribal union on the territory of modern Ukraine at the end of the 5th century, a new tribal union arose, which went to the formation of a proto-state - this is the union of the Antes. We find historical information about him both in the works of Byzantine authors (Procopius of Caesarea, Maurice Tiberius), and Gothic (Jordan). Echoes of the described events can be found in the German epic. The Antes created a powerful tribal union; Byzantine authors admiringly tell about their warriors. Unfortunately, due to the invasion of the nomads of the east (Avars), the tribal union of the Ants was never formed into a state. Nevertheless, the history of the Ants is extremely important, since the main population of the territory of Ukraine from the time of Kievan Rus is the descendants of the Ants, who preserved their language, culture and traditions. The history of the Antian tribal union was in conflict with both the imperial and the Soviet interpretation of the early history of Kievan Rus. That is why, according to Academician Rybakov, it was forbidden to even mention the term ante in Soviet historical literature. And that is why, during the period of the struggle of our people for survival against the next invasion from the East, we will acquaint you with the history of the Antes by periodically demonstrating the artifacts that Violity introduces into scientific circulation. And today we present an amulet of the Penkovskaya archaeological culture (ants) in comparison with other similar artifacts from the famous Martynovsky treasure. The discovery and scientific description of the Martynovsky treasure marked the beginning of a systematic study by archaeologists of antiquities from the period of the existence of the Ants tribal union.
