Five years of hard work – and the first volume, which covers the history of the formation of Volyn as a territorial phenomenon and covers its historical development from the beginning of the appearance of man to the formation of the first proto-state unions in these spaces, is ready.
The chapters of the first volume were prepared by: Volodymyr Sobchuk (dynamics of territories), Yuriy Kukharchuk (origins of the history of Volyn), Leonid Zalizniak (Paleolithic, Mesolithic, Neolithic, as well as ethnohistorical processes in Volyn in the prehistoric and early historical era), Oleksandr Pozikhovskyi (early Orilnych communities), Kateryna Bunyatyan (Bronze Age), Deoniziy Kozak (neuras, Goths and Veneds – the last work of the famous scientist), Bohdan Pryshchepa (early Slavs). The head of the authors' team is Iryna Voronchuk.
A special highlight of the book is 16 full-length maps specially prepared for publication by a highly professional creative team consisting of Rostyslav Sossa, Volodymyr Kravchenko and Volodymyr Sobchuk.
No historical and ethnographic region of Ukraine has any work of this level. When starting the publication, the authors set a certain bar for historical research, define discourse, set standards that researchers will look up to for many years to come.
The content of the publication corresponds to its form. The book has a format of 205x260 mm and will be made on high-quality coated Swedish paper G-smooth with a density of 130 grams per square meter. 384 pages of high-quality color printing are supplemented with 8 large-format stickers with maps. The hardcover is made with a straight spine, the flyleafs are colored with maps; For ease of use, the book contains a bookmark tape.
