USDMagnifying Glass Magnification Formula
A magnifying glass is any positive lens with a focal length of less than 250 mm. The approximate magnification M provided by the lens is calculated by dividing its focal length by 250. For example, a lens with a focal length of 50 mm will give an increase of M = 250/50 = 5×.
Does anything depend on the diameter of the magnifying glass? Probably the size of the field of view only? What is the diameter of a magnifying glass glass?
