At Sotheby's auction, a painting by the Polish painter Heinrich Semiradsky "Parnassus" is on display. The work is a copy of the large theater curtain, which is located in the premises of the Lviv Opera. According to estimates, the lot can go under the hammer for 600 thousand pounds. The size of the picture is 91x147 cm. The original curtain, which has been decorating the interior for a century, significantly exceeds the miniature-its size is 6x9 m. Semiradsky worked on the curtain in 1899. earlier, he showed his creativity in creating large-scale works by presenting the curtain for the Opera house in Krakow.

The copy almost completely repeats the original work, and is an excellent example of how masterfully you can use the photographic technique that the author has resorted to. The work is made with oil paints. Previously, it was not shown to the General public, and all these years it was kept in a private collection. This is one of Semiradsky's last significant paintings.
