While studying the ruins of Daskileon, an ancient city in Asia Minor (present-day Turkey), archaeologists found a relief depicting a battle between Greek and Persian soldiers that took place in the V century BC. On the surface of the artifact, you can see Greeks caught among enemy horses. Archaeologist Kaan Iren believes that the images served a propaganda role during the Greco-Persian war.

Excavations in Daskileon have been carried out since June of this year, 30 people are involved in the work. Earlier, a stone-brick wall was discovered, dated to the VIII century BC. It belongs to the period when the Phrygians settled here and built defensive structures. In the VI century BC, the Persians conquered Daskileon. The city had an important strategic location, since it allowed to keep the Dardanelles under control. Under the rule of the Persian satraps, Daskileon was located until 330 BC.
