Sierra Leone Post issued new stamps with Ukrainian rescuers

Russia's attack on Ukraine was a shock not only for our country, but for the whole world. As a sign of solidarity with the Ukrainian people, the post offices of many countries issue exclusive stamps. This spring, no less than 44 such stamps went on sale. For example, stamps symbolizing support for Ukraine were put into circulation by Poland, Estonia, Luxembourg, Latvia, Croatia, Estonia, Canada, Austria, Lithuania.

But Sierra Leone has become the leader in the number of copies dedicated to our country. Already 19 episodes have been released by this African country at the moment. These are stamps called “Pope Francis prays for Ukraine”, “Glory to Ukraine”, “Military aircraft of Ukraine”, “Colonel Oksanchenko” and “Celebrity for Ukraine”, which depicts Arnold Schwarzenegger against the background of the Ukrainian flag.

The new issue, which demonstrates Ukrainian realities, is the Heroic firefighters of Ukraine stamps. They sing of the strength and courage of Ukrainian rescuers. The design of the products contains images of brave firefighters and their equipment during dangerous work. In addition, the postage sign depicts buildings damaged by Russian terrorists. The denomination of the stamps is 20,000 and 70,000 leons ($1.6 and $5.7).
