Mercedes-Benz 630K La Baule by Ukrainian designer sold for $730,000
Two windshields and tapestries in the cabin are the unique style of 12 Mercedes-Benz 630K La Baule convertibles, designed by Ukrainian stylist Yakov Savchuk.

Recently, just such a rare car was sold for $730,000 at an American auction. This price was due to the fact that a total of 12 such machines were produced.

What was the designer of the Mercedes-Benz 630K convertible La Baule known for?

Jacques or Yakov Savchuk (Savchik) emigrated to France with his parents at the end of the 19th century. He managed to establish his own production in the vicinity of Paris. Later, he managed to become the author of exclusive designs for Mercedes-Benz, Hispano Suiza, Delahaye, Cadillac and other cars.
The works of the Ukrainian designer are highly valued by collectors in the past and today, as they are distinguished by their avant-garde style, non-standard solutions and bright color ideas for the body part. And the Mercedes 630K La Baule is no exception.
The car is equipped with two windshields, and the fabric roof consists of several sections, folds partially or completely. For interior decoration, genuine leather, wood and fabric were used, as for tapestries.
